You can write beautifully. You just may not know it yet.
Your own personal style is in there. It just needs encouraging out into the light.
Once you start writing from the heart, you’ll find that describing your observations, your memories and what’s around you gives you a sense of achievement.
If the prose you produce on the day goes no further than a notebook in the drawer, it really doesn’t matter.
Workshops from the Write Setting do two things. They create a welcoming mood - a safe space where it’s comfortable to write. They offer simple tools to prompt ideas and start the pen moving across the page.
It’s all in bite sized chunks. The prose might be intense or relaxed. It might be literary or down-to-earth. But never mind the blank page, let’s just start writing, fifty words at a time.
There’s no pressure to get on with your masterpiece. This is writing for its own sake. Writing that gives you the same glow you get from a brisk walk across the fields and a drink by a log fire in the pub.
But you will come away a little surprised at what you can do.
